Mental Health Awareness Round
What Is It?
Following on from the success of our inaugural year in 2022; the purpose of the round is to promote awareness and conversation around Mental Health within your Hockey community. By shining a light on the importance of mental health, we hope to help reduce the stigma attached.
Who Can Get Involved?
Any team, club or association Australia wide is welcome to participate. You can choose when and where you hold the round. There is no cost to participate and all materials are provided free of charge.
What Are The Key Messages?
- The benefits of physical exercise in a team environment, can have positive benefits on a person’s mental and physical health
- Raising awareness of the importance of seeking help as soon as possible
- Reducing the stigma of mental health and normalising mental health issues to be the same as physical health issues
- Zero tolerance for bullying and all forms of abusive behaviour, and
- Raising awareness of the negative impact these have on a person’s mental health
What is provided
Stickers For Uniforms
The hashtag #TEAMATESFORLIFE encapsulates the importance
of looking after your own mental health & your teammates too. These stickers can be self applied and come off easily after the game.
LFH Signage
Several removable signs can be provided to promote the core message of the round, and a QR code to the LFH website.
Social Media Posts
The LFH team will work with you to build a campaign of social media posts to promote the round and the core messages. The round also gives individuals the chance to share their own personal experiences (see examples in the 2022 highlights below)
Free Hockey kit
The LFH team will provide each round held with a free Hockey kit. This can be used as a prize in any fund raising activity, or it can be presented to the participant who embodies the values of LFH.
